Commerce and Marketplace Policy

Commerce and marketplace policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

This commerce and marketplace policy (“Policy”) governs product listings, sales offers, and marketplace transactions offered through protreon.com and related Protreon services (“Services”). The Services are operated by Protreon Inc. (“Protreon”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

This Policy applies only to commerce features enabled by Protreon. Publishing a listing does not mean that Protreon processes the transaction, guarantees fulfillment, or provides buyer protection.

This Policy supplements our Terms and Conditions, Community Guidelines, and applicable purchase terms. Creator memberships and subscriptions are also subject to their separate policies.

Nothing in this Policy excludes mandatory consumer rights or other protections available under applicable law.

Protreon’s marketplace role

The identity of the seller and the role of Protreon must be clear before a purchase. A seller may be an independent user, a business, or Protreon where expressly identified.

[BEFORE PUBLICATION: Explain whether the marketplace supports listings only, on-platform checkout, or both. Identify who contracts with the buyer, who processes payments, and whether any buyer protection or dispute assistance is offered. Link the applicable fees and seller payment terms.]

Where an independent seller supplies the product or service, that seller is responsible for its description, fulfillment, and applicable seller obligations. Protreon remains responsible for its own actions and legal obligations.

Do not assume that a transaction includes escrow, insurance, identity verification, a warranty, or a refund guarantee unless that protection is expressly offered.

Buyer and seller eligibility

Users entering marketplace transactions must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering the relevant agreement.

Sellers must have the authority to sell the advertised item or service and meet applicable licensing, business registration, and verification requirements.

Provide accurate identity, business, contact, payment, and tax information where required. A permitted public display name does not excuse false verification information.

We may restrict commerce features where a location, payment method, or product category is unsupported.

Listing requirements

Listings must accurately describe the offer and disclose material information, including:

  • The product or service, its condition, and what is included.
  • The price, currency, and applicable mandatory charges.
  • Shipping costs, delivery arrangements, or collection requirements.
  • Known defects, compatibility limits, and safety restrictions.
  • Whether the item is new, used, refurbished, customized, or offered for preorder.
  • Relevant cancellation, return, and warranty terms.
  • The seller’s business status and contact information where required.

Use photographs and descriptions that accurately represent the item. Do not conceal defects, misrepresent authenticity, or advertise an unavailable product to attract buyers to a different offer.

Preorders and made-to-order offers must clearly explain expected availability and fulfillment timing.

Prohibited products and services

You must not list, sell, request, or arrange transactions involving:

  • Illegal goods, stolen property, counterfeit products, or unlawfully obtained information.
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives, or weapon components.
  • Illegal drugs, prescription medicines, or controlled substances.
  • Child exploitation, sexual services, or prohibited intimate material.
  • Human trafficking, human organs, or services facilitating abuse.
  • Malware, stolen credentials, unauthorized account access, or identity documents.
  • Pirated media, infringing digital products, or unauthorized access to paid content.
  • Recalled products or products whose sale is prohibited for safety reasons.
  • Fraudulent investments, pyramid schemes, or money-laundering services.
  • Live animals or wildlife products.

Do not use a listing, external link, or private message to arrange a transaction prohibited by this Policy.

Restricted categories

Some categories require additional legal and operational safeguards. These include alcohol, tobacco or nicotine products, financial services, medical devices, supplements, food, vehicles, real estate, and regulated professional services.

Do not offer these categories unless Protreon expressly permits them and all applicable requirements are met.

Permission to discuss a regulated product does not automatically authorize its sale. Platform approval does not replace licenses, safety obligations, or legal restrictions.

Orders and payments

The applicable listing and checkout must explain when an order becomes binding and identify the seller responsible for fulfillment.

Use only payment methods supported for the relevant transaction. Do not request passwords, payment security codes, or another user’s account access.

Platform fees and other mandatory charges must be disclosed before purchase. A seller must not add undisclosed charges after an order has been accepted.

If an order is canceled before fulfillment, collected payments must be handled according to the purchase terms and applicable law.

Do not describe a payment as a gift, tip, or personal transfer to disguise a sale or evade applicable protections.

Shipping, delivery, and collection

Sellers must fulfill orders within the promised timeframe and use appropriate packaging, shipping methods, and delivery information.

If a delay occurs, notify the buyer promptly and provide cancellation or other options required by the purchase terms and law.

Do not claim an item has shipped when it has not or provide false tracking information. Keep appropriate fulfillment records without collecting unnecessary personal information.

Responsibility for loss or damage in transit is determined by applicable law and the valid purchase terms. A blanket disclaimer does not automatically transfer all shipping risk to the buyer.

For local collection, agree on arrangements through appropriate communication channels. Consider a public meeting location and do not share unnecessary personal details. Protreon does not supervise in-person exchanges unless expressly stated.

Digital products and services

Digital offers must explain file formats, technical requirements, access duration, download limits, licensing, and any material restrictions before purchase.

Purchasing a digital product does not ordinarily transfer copyright or authorize redistribution unless the seller expressly grants those rights.

Services must have a clear description of scope, deliverables, timing, and any buyer responsibilities. Do not promise outcomes that cannot reasonably be supported.

Any applicable withdrawal rights or consent requirements must be addressed through the purchase process. Providing immediate access does not automatically eliminate every cancellation or refund right.

Returns, cancellations, and refunds

Sellers must disclose their return and cancellation terms before purchase. Those terms cannot exclude mandatory rights concerning defective, unsafe, misdescribed, or undelivered products or services.

Protreon’s No Refund Policy does not automatically make every independent seller’s transaction non-refundable.

Change-of-mind returns depend on the seller’s disclosed policy and applicable law. Additional withdrawal rights may apply to certain purchases, particularly where the seller is acting as a business.

If a return is required or agreed, the parties must follow the applicable instructions concerning authorization, return condition, shipping costs, and refund timing. These instructions must not impose unlawful obstacles.

Do not substitute store credit for a monetary refund required by law without the buyer’s agreement.

Seller responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for:

  • Product safety, authenticity, and lawful sourcing.
  • Accurate descriptions and required disclosures.
  • Licenses, permits, tax obligations, and legally required records.
  • Fulfilling accepted orders and addressing legitimate complaints.
  • Honoring applicable guarantees, cancellation rights, and remedies.
  • Providing recall or safety information where required.
  • Protecting buyer information received during a transaction.

Business sellers must not misrepresent themselves as private individuals to avoid consumer obligations.

Selling through Protreon does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship unless a separate agreement expressly establishes one.

Buyer responsibilities

Buyers must review the listing, use authorized payment methods, provide accurate delivery information, and comply with agreed collection or service arrangements.

Do not submit false non-delivery claims, return a different item, misuse payment disputes, or threaten a seller to obtain an improper benefit.

These requirements do not restrict genuine complaints, honest reviews, or lawful payment dispute rights.

Transaction privacy

Use buyer and seller information only for disclosed, lawful purposes connected with the transaction.

Receiving an address, email address, or telephone number does not automatically authorize marketing, public disclosure, or unrelated contact.

Do not publish payment information, delivery addresses, identity documents, or private dispute records. Share only the information reasonably needed to complete or resolve the transaction.

Our Privacy Policy explains Protreon’s handling of personal information. Independent sellers may have additional privacy obligations.

Reviews and feedback

Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Do not fabricate transactions, buy fake reviews, or condition rewards on positive feedback.

Disclose relevant relationships or incentives where required. Sellers must not use threats or deception to suppress legitimate criticism.

Reviews remain subject to our Community Guidelines, including restrictions on harassment, private information, and unlawful content.

Disputes and suspected fraud

For an order problem, contact the responsible seller using the relevant transaction channel where safe and appropriate. Provide the order reference and a clear description of the issue.

You may also report suspected fraud or a platform violation to contact@protreon.com or through our contact form.

Any Protreon dispute assistance is limited to the services expressly offered. We do not promise reimbursement merely because a transaction originated from a listing.

Our involvement does not remove the responsible seller’s obligations or prevent you from contacting a payment provider, regulator, court, or law enforcement.

Reporting a problem to Protreon does not automatically extend a payment dispute deadline. Do not submit passwords, full card details, or unnecessary sensitive documents.

Listing and account enforcement

We may request supporting information, remove listings, restrict commerce features, or suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

Serious safety risks, suspected fraud, recalls, or legal requirements may justify immediate action. Where appropriate and legally required, we provide reasons and available appeal options.

Listing removal does not automatically cancel all contractual obligations between buyer and seller. Outstanding orders, refunds, and payments must be resolved according to applicable terms and law.

Any platform payment hold or adjustment must have a valid contractual or legal basis. Legitimate seller funds are not automatically forfeited because an account is restricted.

Appeals may be submitted under our Reporting, Moderation, and Appeals Policy.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as commerce features, supported categories, or legal requirements change. We will revise the date and provide additional notice where required.

Changes do not retroactively remove rights associated with completed purchases or existing disputes.
