Reporting, Moderation, and Appeals Policy

Reporting, moderation, and appeals policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

This reporting, moderation, and appeals policy (“Policy”) explains how to report concerns, how Protreon reviews content and account activity, and how to request review of a moderation decision.

This Policy applies to protreon.com and related Protreon services (“Services”), operated by Protreon Inc. (“Protreon”, “we”, “us” or “our”). It supplements our Terms and Conditions, Community Guidelines, and other applicable policies.

Special procedures apply to copyright notices, nonconsensual intimate imagery, child safety concerns, and privacy requests. This Policy does not replace those procedures or extend any legally required deadline.

What you can report

You may report content, accounts, advertisements, memberships, or conduct that you believe violates our policies or applicable law, including:

  • Threats, harassment, stalking, hate speech, or disclosure of private information.
  • Child exploitation, grooming, or inappropriate contact involving minors.
  • Nonconsensual intimate imagery or sexual deepfakes.
  • Impersonation, scams, phishing, or fraudulent fundraising.
  • Copyright or trademark infringement.
  • Spam, malware, unauthorized access, or deceptive platform manipulation.
  • Prohibited products, services, advertisements, or creator benefits.
  • Materially misleading paid offers or failure to provide promised benefits.
  • Accounts that appear to be below the applicable minimum age.

Disagreement, criticism, or an unpopular opinion does not automatically constitute a violation. Explain the conduct or rule involved so we can assess the concern in context.

How to submit a report

Use an available reporting control associated with the relevant content or account. You may also report a concern through:

You do not need the reported person’s permission to submit a report. People without a Protreon account may use our contact channels.

If you cannot access your account, you may still contact us from an email address where we can reach you. Account ownership verification may be necessary before we disclose account information or change account access.

Information to include

Provide enough information to help us locate and understand the issue:

  • The specific content link, account username, message location, or advertisement identifier.
  • A description of the concern and the policy or legal issue involved, if known.
  • Relevant dates and context, especially where a single post does not explain the conduct.
  • Supporting records that you may lawfully provide.
  • Contact information for any necessary clarification or response.

Do not send passwords, full payment details, or unnecessary identity documents. Do not download, redistribute, or attach suspected child sexual abuse material. Identify its location instead.

For intimate imagery, provide links or location details rather than attaching the material when that is sufficient.

Special reporting procedures

Child safety

Identify urgent child exploitation or grooming concerns as “Child Safety Report”. Follow our Child Safety and Teen Protection Policy. Immediate danger should also be reported to local emergency services.

Nonconsensual intimate imagery

Follow our Nonconsensual Intimate Image Removal Policy and identify the request as “Intimate Image Removal”. That policy explains the information required for a removal request and applicable response deadlines.

Copyright and intellectual property

Formal copyright notices and counter-notices must follow our Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy and be sent to the designated copyright agent. An ordinary appeal does not replace a legally required counter-notice.

Privacy requests

Requests to access, correct, or delete personal information, or exercise other privacy rights, are handled under our Privacy Policy. A privacy complaint may also lead to a separate review of prohibited conduct.

Billing and creator payouts

Payment errors, subscription cancellations, refund requests, and payout disputes are handled under the relevant payment policies. A moderation appeal does not automatically submit a cancellation or refund request.

How we review reports

We assess reports according to the applicable rules, available evidence, context, severity, and potential harm. We may also consider related conduct, prior relevant violations, and whether restrictions are necessary to prevent ongoing harm.

We prioritize urgent safety concerns and meet mandatory deadlines where applicable. Not every report receives the same response time, and we do not promise a fixed deadline for ordinary moderation reviews.

We may request clarification or review related material needed to understand the issue. We do not require a reporter to prove a criminal offense before assessing a platform policy concern.

The number of reports does not, by itself, establish a violation. We consider the substance of a report rather than treating coordinated reporting as proof.

We do not guarantee that every item is reviewed before publication or that every violation will be detected. This does not limit duties imposed by applicable law.

Possible moderation actions

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Take no action where the available information does not establish a violation.
  • Request additional information or a correction.
  • Issue a warning or explain the applicable rule.
  • Remove content or restrict access to it.
  • Limit distribution or access to particular features.
  • Restrict messaging, posting, livestreaming, or advertising.
  • Disable monetization or review related transactions under the applicable payout terms.
  • Suspend or terminate an account.
  • Take geographically limited action where appropriate to a legal requirement.
  • Preserve records or report matters to authorities where required or otherwise lawfully appropriate.

Actions may be temporary or permanent. Serious violations may justify immediate action without a prior warning. Less serious or remediable violations may receive a warning or an opportunity to correct the issue.

Decision notices

Where appropriate and legally required, we notify affected users of material restrictions and explain:

  • The content, feature, or account affected.
  • The relevant rule or legal basis.
  • The nature and duration of the restriction, where known.
  • Available review or appeal options.

We may limit details where disclosure would expose private information, compromise safety or security, interfere with an investigation, or violate law.

Reporters may receive an acknowledgment or general outcome where appropriate. We may not disclose another person’s private account information or every action taken.

How to appeal

If your content or account is restricted and you believe the decision is incorrect, use the appeal option provided with the decision or contact contact@protreon.com with the subject “Moderation Appeal”.

Include:

  • Your username and account email address.
  • The decision or report reference, if available.
  • The affected content or feature.
  • An explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect.
  • Relevant additional context, permissions, or supporting evidence.

If a decision notice provides an appeal deadline, it must be consistent with applicable law. Submit your appeal promptly, but this request does not shorten a legally protected complaint period.

Do not create replacement accounts to evade restrictions while an appeal is pending.

How we review appeals

We review the original basis for the decision, your explanation, and any relevant additional information. Where appropriate and practicable, a different reviewer will assess the appeal.

We may uphold, modify, or reverse the decision. If a restriction is reversed, we take reasonable steps to restore affected access or content where technically possible and lawful.

We communicate the outcome and provide further explanation where appropriate or legally required. We may decline repetitive appeals that present no new information, without limiting mandatory review rights.

An appeal does not automatically restore content, pause a restriction, or extend a statutory removal deadline.

If a reporter believes a serious concern was overlooked, they may contact us again with the report reference and material additional information.

Payments and paid access

Moderation may affect creator memberships, paid content, advertisements, or access to purchased features. Related billing matters are assessed separately under the applicable purchase terms and law.

A restriction does not automatically eliminate lawful refund rights or legitimately earned creator payouts. Any payout hold, deduction, or reserve must have a valid contractual or legal basis.

We will not continue renewing a subscription that we terminate and will no longer supply. Treatment of prepaid, undelivered benefits follows the applicable payment policies and legal requirements.

Privacy and confidentiality

We use report and appeal information to investigate concerns, administer decisions, communicate with relevant people, protect the Services, and meet legal obligations.

We limit access to people and providers with an appropriate need to handle the matter. We may disclose relevant information where necessary and lawful, including under special copyright procedures or legal requirements.

We do not promise absolute confidentiality. Avoid submitting unrelated sensitive information, and review the special reporting policy where a procedure involves sharing a notice with another party.

Our Privacy Policy provides additional information about personal information and retention.

Misuse of reporting tools

Do not knowingly submit false allegations, fabricate evidence, impersonate a rights holder, or organize abusive reporting campaigns.

Do not threaten or retaliate against someone for making a good-faith report or appeal. A report that does not result in enforcement is not, by itself, evidence of abuse.

We may restrict demonstrably abusive reporting activity while preserving required reporting channels and legal rights.

External complaints and legal rights

Our internal process does not prevent you from contacting law enforcement, a regulator, a court, or another legally available dispute-resolution body.

You do not have to complete an internal appeal before exercising an external right unless applicable law validly requires it.

Additional notice, complaint, or review rights may apply depending on your location and the Services involved. We provide required information through the relevant decision notice or policy.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as platform features, moderation practices, or legal requirements change. We will revise the date and provide additional notice where required.

Changes do not remove mandatory reporting, complaint, or appeal rights.
